jericho the promise fulfilled {review}

Every time I passed their booth at the homeschool convention, I found a dozen or so children gazing into the t.v. I finally had to stop in and see what was creating such a spectacle.

It was a battle scene of epic proportions…the story of the battle of Jericho the Promise Fulfilled. In Legos. Oh yeah. Legos. No wonder the kids were mesmerized. Upon learning that the video was created by home schooled teenage boys, I knew I had to get my hands on one!

As expected, when I arrived at home with the video, my 4 year old son, could barely stand it. He absolutely had to watch it right away. Not only was he thrilled with his first viewing, he begs to watch it over and over again.

The story begins in Joshua when the Lord tells him to prepare to take the promised land. It continues through the story of the spies, the crossing of the river, the Passover meal, the marching around the city and the ultimate battle scene.

The graphics are unique and fun. The details are superb. I love the way the water parts when the Israelites cross the Jordan. The humor is cute and witty, with just enough to tempt an adult to smile without compromising the intended audience.

There are a few things that are out of the time period (the soldiers use computers and there is a reporter video taping the battle). Not a big deal to me, but obviously isn’t historically accurate. There is also a romantic element between one of the spies and Rahab. Just a simple teasing over the fact that he wants to take care of her. I’m not a big fan of this kind of stuff, but it is pretty quick and doesn’t cross the line.

Our family loves this movie. It was a battle scene to excite any mighty warrior’s heart. I love that my son can get his war fix and Bible truth all at the same time. I can’t wait for another one to come out! Let’s support other homeschooling families and their students as they speed the Word.

    Thanks for sharing about this – I just ordered for my son. He loves legos! I’m going to add this to his Summer Bag – I’ve been collecting little books, games etc for this summer.

    Thank you for sharing your review with us. All 7 of my kids love LEGO anything! I think it is ultimately the best investment for everyone…I would rather spend the money on these than any other toy out there, nothing compares :)
