  1. was wandering what the trick is to inviting Jesus to take away the pain and choosing never to be consumed by my anything else again. I feel like I am always at battle with this and I dont want it to be this way. I absulutlly hate living without my husband and with the thought that he is happy and has choosen this way as the best. I spend time with God and really do want to seek Him every day, asking Him to take my pain, but it just keeps hitting deeper and deeper. You make it sound simple and I am frustrated with myself that cant do that for more than just a day or two. Its been 9 months that I have been working at this. I dig into His word every day. someone thought maybe I havent surrendered my ALL to the Lord, if I havent, I guess I dont know how thats done.

    • Oh sweet friend, I hate to tell you that I don’t believe that forgiveness and healing is a “once and you’re done” kinda of thing. I think that like bad habits, you can claim the big victory, but there will always be some level of struggle. There may be that one memory that triggers things or that situation that brings back all the pain. The secret? Of course, you have to lay it all at Jesus’ feet, but friend, sometimes you have to lay it down again. And again. And again. Every time that thought creeps in, give it back to Jesus. It does get better with time, but we all find ourselves likely to give in to the thought-life sometimes and we believe the lie that we don’t have victory. Remember, in Jesus, there is victory. He has already overcome so that we are free. There may be struggle- but we are still free. Just keep giving it right back to Him.
