Tips to Use the Career Planning Section
The Career Planning Section of our High School Homeschool Planner is designed to help students think about different career ideas and walk them through the process in a systematic way. Using it will help your student(s) explore possible career paths and prepare them for the next steps after high school.
- For brainstorming, the Career Ideas pages allow students to write down their interests, the things they don’t enjoy, and some careers of interest.
- The Career Planning pages are where students research the various career options. They will write pros and cons, types of required education, and answer questions as they consider the career option. This is how students will decide if they want to explore a particular career option further.
- In the Career Exploration pages, students will work through some different ways to get some hands-on experience, apprenticeship, or volunteer-type experience in a chosen career. This allows them to gain some experience in a career field.
While this is not meant to be a complete career planning course, the Career Planning section of our High School Homeschool Planner is designed to prepare students for making future career choices.
