Pro Tips for Using the Reading Journal
- Help your child identify the types of books he or she might like to read. Think about hobbies they enjoy or places they like to go to help get the conversation started.
- If you have a reluctant reader, help him or her set a reading goal each day. It could be a number of pages or time frame. Setting a goal will help motivate them to read.
- Plan weekly or monthly library trips to keep book choices fresh and interesting.
Once your child has learned to read, the Reading Journal is perfect to use for any age. There are 28 unique lessons in the journal, each repeated 7 times throughout the year. Your child will complete one, half-page lesson after they finish reading for the day.
